"Family Values"

The "Family Values" scale begins with "I want my family to place importance on ..." and then provides items such as "Appearances," "Being resourceful," and "Education." It is designed to assess the values that would be most likely to a source of conflict if the couple disagreed regarding the importance of different values in their family if the couple had children together.

In our research, it has been a strong predictor of long term relationship happiness and contentment for both women and men.

The "Family Values" scale consists of 20 of the 180 items in the "Compatible Lifestyle Questionnaire-R©".
